ShredTogether is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

What We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Name, username, and email address when you create an account
• Phone number (used to help friends find you)
• Profile photo
• Home resort, discipline (ski/snowboard), and skill level
• Posts, trip plans, and snow days you log

Information collected automatically:

• Device type and operating system (for push notification delivery)
• App crash reports and error logs, used only to fix bugs

Information from your contacts (optional):

If you grant permission, we access your contacts' names, phone numbers, and email addresses solely to match them against ShredTogether accounts. This data is sent securely to our servers, used only for that match, and never stored or shared with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

• To operate your account and provide the ShredTogether service
• To show you which friends are riding and help you coordinate trips
• To send push notifications (friend requests, snow day alerts, trip updates)
• To help friends find you by phone number when they sync contacts
• To fix bugs and improve app performance

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

Who We Share Data With

We use a small number of trusted services to operate the app:

Each service processes only the data necessary for its function. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Data Storage

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, located in Australia and the United States. By using ShredTogether you consent to this transfer.

Your Rights

Access and correction: You can view and edit your profile information at any time within the app.

Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account from your Profile screen. This removes all your data — posts, snow days, trips, friends, and profile — immediately and cannot be undone.

Contact syncing: Contacts access is optional and can be revoked at any time in your device's Settings.

Push notifications: You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's Settings.

Children's Privacy

ShredTogether is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will notify you through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
